Brazil iGaming Regulation Updates: Stricter Advertising & Licensing Information
In compliance with the new regulatory policies, Google will no longer display betting advertisements from companies without authorization from the Brazilian Treasury. At the same time, the PIX payment method has been removed from all SoftSwiss casinos that have not gotten the Brazilian license or haven’t requested it.
In addition, the license acquisition fee is rumored to be BR$30 million (around US$6.1m) per operator for three years, after which it will be renewed. Operators must also have BR$5 million in a separate account as reserve money.
West Casino Suspended by the MGA
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has barred Goldwin Ltd, operator of WestCasino, from rendering iGaming services under its license, effective from September 25. While the site no longer displays the MGA icon or any licensing information, it is still active to allow customers access to existing accounts.
The operator was suspended for several violations, including what MGA describes as “an imminent threat of serious prejudice to the interest of players”.
